My Lead System Pro conducted its kick-off call last night for the MLSP sponsored live event in Dallas this coming October, known as “Live The Dream”. On this content packed webinar, three of the top earners who will be speaking at the MLSP event shared some of their very best marketing strategies.

While we’re still a few months away from the event itself, my purpose with this brief post is to give you an idea of what to expect from it should you choose to join us in Dallas this fall.

I trust this will help you decide whether or not “Live The Dream” is something you’re going to want to invest your time and resources into.

What You Didn’t Know About My Lead System Pro (MLSP) ~Insider Review~

I’m sure you’ve heard of My Lead System Pro, or MLSP, as it’s also known as. My Lead System Pro is by many considered the world’s #1 Attraction Marketing platform for network marketers.

There’s certainly no lack of content on the Internet about MLSP. But what I want to do in this post, is look at some aspects of MLSP that you may not have seen discussed as much before.

Also, not many people know this, but I was among the first batch of members with MLSP when it launched back in 2008. Over the next four years I continued to use the training, although not the system or the community (long story)…

Should you follow up with leads who “unsubscribe”…?

0

One of the questions I was asked on yesterday’s “All Access Q&A” – a call I conduct on a regular basis for our PRO community – was whether you may contact a person who unsubscribes from your list, or if that will be considered SPAM.

The short answer is “no”, you may not contact them (perhaps there are exceptions, I don’t know, but why risk it?)…you would be violating their rights if you do, and they they may even report you… (Believe me, people are petty enough to do that.)

More importantly though – and I said this to the caller – you need to ask yourself why you want to contact someone who has let you know they are not interested.

That’s chasing. That’s approaching your business with a mindset of poverty or scarcity. That’s NOT how you build a successful, thriving business.

This is also why you need to generate massive amounts of leads. Then, you don’t get emotionally attached to the outcome.

It’s almost impossible, though, not to get emotionally attached if you aren’t producing sufficient leads!

If you’re not generating enough leads, you’ll find yourself thinking about whether a particular person is going to come in. You find yourself entertaining thoughts like, “I though he would have joined by now. He said he was going to get his start-up kit this week.”

Maybe you’re even thinking about what products they’re likely to buy, the dollar amount this is going to put in your pocket, and how this will help fund your marketing for the following month.

The problem is you haven’t even made the entry level sale yet!

Never, ever, ever, ever become emotionally attached to the outcome of a business deal. You will soon become mentally exhausted!

Not only that, but your prospects will sense your neediness. You will not come across as a professional.

So, back to my caller and her question: It’s not so much about whether she should be contacting the person who unsubscribed – the real question is, why would she want to in the first place?

The person is not interested, for crying out loud!

My caller should be focusing her time and energy on driving more traffic. Much more traffic! 30, 50, 100+ leads a day.

Leads are just leads. They put in their name and email on your website…so what? There’s no commitment from a lead. 95% of your prospects will never join you in your primary business anyway. (Yup, those are the industry stats.)

And that’s exactly why you need heaps and heaps and heaps of leads.

See, when you have consistent traffic flow, and you’ve worked out your metrics, and you know how to close sales and upgrade your distributors, it doesn’t concern you AT ALL that people unsubscribe from your list.

You know it’s just a sorting process anyway, and you’re working your business with a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity: You know there’s no lack of qualified prospects.

You’re not trying to please everyone – you’re just looking for a few select individuals. The right individuals.

When you convey this through your marketing, and on the phone with people, you come across as that leader your prospects are looking for. And they sign up with you, because everyone’s looking for a leader (Attraction Marketing 101).

Becoming a successful marketer is about two things: 1. Developing the skill set of driving and converting traffic, and 2. Developing the mindset of a leader.

That’s “all” there’s to it.

Jacob on the team filmed and produced this hilarious video during our recent team trip to the Grand Canyon. What a day we had: I charted 2 vans and we headed for the rim…where, believe it or not, we celebrated the birthdays of two team members with birthday cake! (Talk about party with a view!)

It was a day none of us will soon forget.

Enjoy the video!

“The Cows And The Rhino” A Story About Leadership, Courage, And What It Means To Be Truly Free

Monday, August 9th, 2010
0

The other day I had the great privilege of having John “JJ” Jackson as a surprise guest on my weekly team training.

JJ is VP of Leadership Development with CarbonCopyPRO, and also a good friend and mentor of mine. (That’s JJ and me in the picture there.)

On the call we discussed leadership (what else?), and JJ reiterated a story that you may – or may not – have heard before…namely the tale about the cows and the rhino.

It contains a very important lesson about life and leadership.

So here’s the story if you’re not familiar with it…and I’m retelling it in my own words:

“There are these cows grassing closely together in a secluded, fenced-in area…masses of them. They’re all just doing the same thing – doing what cows do: Grassing.

But then there’s this RHINO – one lone rhino among all the cows.

And this rhino doesn’t like being confined, in fact he hates it, so he BURSTS through the fence and out into the open field and up the hill.

“Wo-hoo – freedom!!!”

There, he stops and looks back, down at all the cows. And you know what? You know what he sees?

He sees that they’re not really cows – from where he’s standing he can see clearly what he was not able to see while down there, grassing among all of them with his head down and his butt in the air…

They’re not really cows – they are really rhinos! They are ALL rhinos that have been conned into believing they’re cows!” (Major light bulb moment there.)

It’s a simple little story yet it’s profound, isn’t it?

For sure it got me thinking.

It got me thinking about the reason, the real reason why, today, I find myself in this vast field of opportunity.

Financial freedom. Time freedom. Life on my own terms. The opportunity to inspire and encourage other people. The list goes on.

It’s not because I’m so “special”, or so “gifted”. And it’s certainly not because I have been “lucky”.

No.

Here’s why:

It’s because, some time back, I fully embraced the fact that I’m a rhino.

It didn’t happen overnight – far from it. It happened after years of internal battles, challenges, and struggles — followed by bursts of personal growth.

But gradually, I came to terms with who I really am. I took ownership of my rhino-ness, you could say.

I stopped listening to those who wanted to dupe me into believing I was – and always would be – a cow:

“Just stay where you are.” “It’s too difficult.” “You can’t do it.” “You’ll never make it.” “You’re not smart enough”, “You’re –”

HUSH!! STOP IT!!

Yeah, that’s essentially what I told them…in my subconscious, I told them.

And you know what else I did? I started to question the fence.

Why was there a fence there in the first place? Who put it there? Did it really have to be there?

Why I could not go outside its perimeters? Who said so?

Well, of course, the ones who said so were the same people who wanted me to believe I was a cow!

The ones I had decided NOT to listen to anymore.

So as I finally and completely embraced my rhino-ness, I was able to muster the strength and the courage that it took to ‘SMASH’ through the fence, and into the open.

And that is why, today, I have opportunities. It’s because I’m on this side of the fence now, with the other rhinos.

You see, in the OPEN FIELD there’s opportunity everywhere that you look.

You just have to get yourself there…!

Stop listening to the naysayers and the dream stealers. The people who are trying to put you down and hold you back.

Be the rhino you were created to be.

Leave fearlessly.

Choose freedom.

I’m going to Jamaica…this time on a REAL vacation (wish me luck!)

Monday, May 17th, 2010
0

I just booked my suite at the Ritz Carlton, Rose Hall, Jamaica, and if it’s anything remotely like what that picture is making it out to be, I know I’m in for a treat.

Now traveling is something I do often, even traveling to beautiful places in lavish surroundings…so why is this so special, then?

Well, it’s special because it is actually going to be a REAL vacation this time!

Meaning I will in fact NOT be attending the conference my company is going to be holding at the properties. No, this time I will just be hanging out at the resort, enjoying everything the place has to offer!

Why did I make this radical decision? Isn’t the education, the information they are going to be sharing at the conference valuable enough?

Absolutely it is. In fact, seeing the line up of the speakers, I know the information will be nothing less than transformational.

But it is also important – scratch that, it’s VITAL - not to keep yourself so busy that you can’t find the time to just ENJOY LIFE.

(And that’s something I know I need to learn to get better at! Lately, it’s really been back-to-back for me with events, travels, and trainings…last month I even had to fight a volcano to get out of Europe after conducting a workshop for my team there…phew…exhausting!)

So my dear friend Melanie, who also happens to be my personal assistant and who lives in Jamaica, is going to be picking me up at the airport, and then we will continue the short drive along the shore side, to the Ritz Carlton resort.

For the next six days we will be relaxing, sleeping, talking, filming, sunbathing, dining, shopping — in short, purely and completely enjoying ourselves.

No to-do list, no meetings, no team trainings, no phone calls, no appointments.

Now…we will of course be talking marketing, sharing ideas, and masterminding as we’ll be mingling with the other marketing consultants at the conference. In fact, we even plan to hold a party – perhaps more than one – in our suite, for any friends and downline members of mine who would like to hang out with us after conference sessions.

And if I know Melanie and myself right, we’ll be like two school girls at a sleepover, giggling in the dark, unable to get any shut-eye because we just have so much to talk about. Marketing and otherwise.

What a BLAST it is going to be.

See, here’s what I’ve been telling myself lately: yes, it is fun to fly fast in your business but if the result is that you crash and burn, well, what good is it?

Better to slow down a little so that you can actually keep the momentum, and so that you can stay in the race for a long time.

We’re not machines, we’re humans.

So this time, while the rest of the group is in there listening to incredible speakers delivering life-changing information, I will be laying at the pool working on my tan, trying NOT to feel guilty about it.

Wish me luck. Something tells me I’ll need it. ;)

No more excuses! (my very public confession)

Friday, April 23rd, 2010
0

This morning, on my 4 1/2 hour bus ride from Grimstad to Oslo, while pondering last week’s unanticipated course of events, it struck me what a hypocrite I’ve been.

I’ll explain what I mean in a minute. But let me start from the beginning.

In the days leading up to my workshop in Oslo earlier this month, I had to excersise some tough love with my some of reps: There were members of my team that lived only a few hours drive from where this free, all-day event was to take place who had failed to reserve their seats.

And they of course had plenty of reasons as to why they “couldn’t make it”.

However, as a direct result of me getting on my soap box on one of my team calls and calling everyone to task, another two dozen of my consultants signed up at the last minute. To my great delight, the conference room was filled to the max on the day of the workshop, and everyone who attended was very happy they did.

Bravo to everyone who rose to the occasion!

Back to today, and my a-ha moment…it suddenly dawned on me that I have been guilty of the exact same thing – I, too, have been making excuses!

Let me explain:

Some time back I learned that my company will be holding a live event in Oslo in June. Although my first thought was, “I have to promote this to my Scandinavian consultants,” I never seriously considered attending the event myself.

“I’ll be returning from Norway less than two months before…and that’s a 25+ hour trip you’re looking at right there…not to speak of the jetlag that it takes another three days to shake off. And I already have a trip planned to Jamaica in July…and one to London in September, and then it’s Las Vegas in November…”

And so my internal dialogue would go. While other people make excuses about not having the time or the finances, or a job they can’t get away from (none of which I can do obviously), my excuse was that I had too many vacations planned!

But then, as fate would have it, volcanic ashes stalled all air traffic and had me “stranded” in rural Norway for an extra week. After having been rebooked by the airline twice, I eventually canceled my flight for a refund and started looking for a different flight altogether, one that could take me home to LA sooner.

And here’s the kicker: It actually turned out that a roundtrip from Oslo to Los Angeles was much less costly than a one way ticket from Oslo to LA!

So I thought about if for a minute and asked myself when might be a good time to return to Norway. And this is when I remembered the company event in Oslo on June 12.

So…long story short…I booked the roundtrip. Which means I will be back in Oslo in June. To once again meet with my wonderful Scandinavian team and to attend what’s certain to be another fabulous event.

See, what I’ve always known intellectually finally sunk in: if I want my team to show up for the events – any event – I have to first make the commitment to show up myself. Regardless of how far I have to travel or what I have to sacrifice to get there.

Because as leaders we lead by example. As leaders we go where most won’t.

We can’t expect others to do what we ourselves are not willing to do. If we do, we’re out of integrity. That’s hypocracy.

Which, today, I realized I have in fact been guilty of!

It took a furious, fuming islandic volcano to make me see that.

Now I repent in dust and ashes. Literally.

And that’s my very public confession…

Why I never miss an industry event — and you shouldn’t either!

0

It’s not every day one gets to hang out with the presumed vice-presidential nominee of the Libertarian Party, but I did!

The picture to the left shows me with Mr. Wayne Allyn Root, a passionate entrepreneur, former TV anchor man, politician, speaker, business owner and best selling author — among other things.

I just returned back home a couple of days ago from another amazing networking event, this time in Houston, Texas.

A day packed with fun and excitement, training and industry news, good conversations and great people. A night spent between fluffy pillows in a super-comfy bed at the Hiltons, waking up to a one-of-a-kind (and ridiculously pricey, I must add) breakfast in bed.

That’s one of the reasons I love going out of town for events: It’s a break from the regular routine – days that I for the most part spend in front of my computer or on training calls with my team. It’s also an opportunity for me to do some well- deserved pampering!

In short, it’s how I get my battery recharged.

It’s how I keep myself motivated, inspired, focused, and on track with my business. Whether they be CEOs of companies, newbie marketers, MLM gurus – or as in this case vice presidential nominees — when I’m around other like-minded, positive, creative people with a vision – it rubs off on me.

I come back home with a different energy. This energy then effortlessly transfers back into my business, and pushes my business to the next level.

Just like that.

I see it happen again and again: Attending events = massive growth in my business. Top earners all know this to be true. Which is why you always see them in the front row at industry events.

There’s a saying that goes something like this: “A smoldering log sitting all by itself, burns out quickly. But when together with several other burning logs, they all keep each other ablaze and the fire never goes out.”

That perfectly describes it.

So don’t let your fire die out! Break out of the routine. Get out of your comfort zone. Get yourself to the next industry event in your area…or, even better, outside of your area.

Place yourself in the company of people who have the ability to motivate you.

I promise your entrepreneurial spirit will thank you for it. And I bet your bank account will, too…

Success is your DECISION…

Friday, November 27th, 2009
0

A couple of days ago I did a call on the CarbonCopyPRO conference bridge with fellow ccpro top producer Gregg D. I love doing calls for our members — they give me a real sense of contributing, not only to my own team’s success but that of our entire community of entrepreneurs. The topic of this week’s call was posture and positioning with your prospects and applicants.

I briefly mentioned something on the call that I want to elaborate on in this post: namely that success starts with a decision. You’ve got to decide in your own mind that you ARE a Leader (not that you are “going to be” but that you “are”), that you ARE successful, that you ARE a top producer. Because, truly, the only thing that stands between you and your actual monetary results is time

As I always say to my new consultants, “the only difference between me and you is that I have been doing this longer than you have.” When you’ve got time working in your favor, as long as you consistently engage in those activities that have been proven to yield the results you are after, there is no way you can not get the desired outcome.

You see, here’s the thing: When you decide in your mind that you ARE a Leader, that you ARE successful, not only will others start to see you that way, too (it’s fact, people see you as you see yourself), but additionally…and this is so KEY:

When you have made the decision that you ARE successful — for real, this is not make-believe or “fake it till you make it” — then your daily activities will begin to reflect this decision: Because you ARE a Leader, you invest what is needed in your business, your advertising and your self education…

Because you ARE a Leader, you regularly attend  marketing events — even if you have to travel across the country (or the world) to get there… Because you ARE a Leader, you think “big”, make the necessary sacrifices, continue to work diligently on yourself and on your business, lead by example, and do everything else that top earners do.

And you know what the “funny” thing is? The “funny” thing is that it is those exact activities – the activities you engage in exactly because you first decided that you ARE a Leader — when performed continuously and consistently, it is these activities that ultimately take you to your monetary goals.

There is no mystery to success. Success simply starts with a DECISION…and then the rest follows naturally.

Be…do…have. It’s a beautiful equation — and it works every time.

PS: I also did a video on this topic, which you can watch HERE.
