Steps To Developing A Mindset For Success

The audition interview I did with Kristen White in Irvine. We had literally just met when we jumped on camera, I had no idea what questions she was going to ask me, and for some reason she also got my name wrong – you’ll hear she calls me Juliana as she introduces me. LOL.

In today’s post I’d like to share a few more thoughts on what it means to have a mindset for success. And to better inspire you to step outside your comfort zone – where of course is where the magic happens – I want to tie in a bit of my own story.

Something very exciting is happening in my life right now. But as I think you’ll see from this post, it’s only the NATURAL result of developing a mindset for success and then taking consistent, bold action steps to make things happen. The good news, then, is that if there’s in fact a method to it, YOU too can experience success.

How To Develop The Mindset For Success

As you may have seen me mention before, I’ll be flying out to St. Louis the first week of November to shoot a segment for Kristen White’s new ABC Television show, “The Ripple Effect”.

Kristen White is a former news anchor who has interviewed people like Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Kevin Costner, and many other celebrities. She is also an award winning reporter and travels the world speaking and training.

So, then, how did I go about getting that spot on her show? Was it just “luck”?

Uhum, I don’t think so. If you want doors of opportunity to open up in your own life, pay careful attention to what I’ll be sharing with you next.

Your Focus Determines Your Reality

The way I see it, great opportunities come about as a result of three things. First, you’ve got to train yourself to recognize opportunities. You may have heard it said that “what you focus on is what you get” or “your focus determines your reality”…

“The Millionaire Messenger” is a perfect example of the kind of book that can change your life…when you act on its teachings. One of my absolute favorites.

Well, the reason this is so is not because you in some mysterious way start attracting good or bad things into your life by focusing on them, but because – as you work on changing your mindset – you wire your brain to pay attention to certain things.

(There’s actually a scientific explanation for it but I won’t get into that right now.)

By constantly exposing yourself to positive stimuli you’ll more and more develop a mindset for success. And again, to clarify, having a mindset for success means you’re able, more and more, to focus on – and therefore also notice – opportunities as they come your way.

In personally spend time every day (have been for years) in prayer and meditation, and giving thanks – and not only when things are going smoothly, by the way. I also listen to uplifting music and read motivational books.

In fact, there are two books that have completely transformed my thinking and helped me develop a mindset for success. One is “The Millionaire Messenger”. The other is the Bible.

(On a side note, I find it fascinating that all the characters we learn about in the Bible were called not to live small lives, but big, bold, God glorifying lives: Moses, Abraham, Esther, David, Daniel, Jonah, and the list goes on…)

By engaging in activities like these and spending time with like minded people, you can re-wire your brain and train yourself to recognize opportunities. And an opportunity is exactly what I saw when the email landed in my inbox that Kristen White was looking for “expert guests” to interview on her TV show.

Swimming Out To Meet Your Ship (While Everyone Else Sits Waiting)

Second, you need to be willing to step outside your comfort zone. I’ve compared it before to training a muscle – the more you do it, the stronger you get. Before long, making bold choices rather than “safe” ones becomes your new default mechanism.

The more you grow a mindset for success by practicing habits like the ones I described above, the more effortlessly you’ll step out in faith.

And the more you step out in faith, the more you’ll also crave the positive stimuli – the uplifting reading material, the meditation, the fellowship with other big thinkers… The two really feed off each other.

But back to my story: After I received the email about the show and submitted my application to work with Kristen, I didn’t hear back. But what I did next was that I traveled to Irvine, California, for a speaker conference where I knew Kristen would be training.

I introduced myself to her and her team and let Kristen know I had submitted an application for her show. This led to the opportunity for me to audition for this very show right there and then! (Video above.)

Also, as I would find out from Kristen, the reason I hadn’t heard back about about my application, was that she had received hundreds of applications and hadn’t had a chance to get to them all yet.

Do you see how going the extra mile (literally) made all the difference? I bet there are dozens and dozens of people – gifted, talented, sharp people – who never got the opportunity to audition for Kristen because their application just stayed there at the bottom of the pile. And they never thought of stepping up their game.

The lesson? Don’t just sit there and wait for your ship to come in – swim out to meet it.

Becoming Sought After In The Market Place

Working on your skill sets is yet another key to success. Because you’ve got to have something to bring to the table. If you have nothing to offer the world, chances are slim you’re going to land great opportunities.

By developing your skill sets you will also more quickly develop a mindset for success because knowledge breeds confidence. And as you grow a mindset for success, this will again give you the positive outlook, the belief and the mental energy to continue honing your skills. Again, the two feed off each other.

In my case, I could confidently pursue this opportunity because I knew I had something of value to offer.

All that being said –

Where Do You Start? What Do You Do Next?

It’s pretty simple, really. Again, three things:

1. Start working on developing a mindset for success by eliminating, as much as possible, negative influences in your life and replace them with positive reinforcement.

2. Next time an opportunity comes your way, and you’re faced with the choice of who to listen to – “Big You” or “Small You” – make the risky choice. Reminding yourself of your “why” will make this easier.

3. Commit to honing your marketing skills, becoming a master at your craft, taking daily and consistent action.

I very recently received this Leadership Award from MLSP in recognition of my team building efforts.

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. Wash, rinse repeat.

Whatever you do, keep at it. You may only see small doors open at first, but in the end the big ones will, too… For those to open you just have to knock a little harder. ;)

My Two Best Resources For Helping You Develop The Mindset For Success

Want specific advice on how to grow a mindset for success? Want me to show you exactly how to acquire the skills that will make you valuable in the market place?

Two things: If you haven’t yet taken your risk free test drive of My Lead System Pro (MLSP), this is where you must start. MLSP is the system and marketing educational platform you need to become an expert marketer – in fact it’s the very one I myself have used for the past four years, and continue to use daily. Take your test drive here

Second, if you’re not yet a “Her Success Blueprint” student, you need to go here to place your order. Yes, you need this course. This is my very own blueprint for success in internet network marketing, and you are missing out big time if you don’t have it.

These two things, specifically, are what I recommend you start with.

Stop putting it off. Today is the day to own your greatness and then go out and knock on some doors. I promise you’re gonna LOVE what you’ll find on the other side… ;)

Excellent advise, training is important as is the mindset to get out of one’s comfort zone and be willing to keep trying until you achieve the results you are aiming for continualy keeping your ‘why’ in focus.

  3. To succeed you must first breaking through your own mentality,
both physical and phsygogolical – First learning your branch -
In the beginning setting up goals not to high – About a few months
hard work you are getting board, tired and weak and haven’t gone nowhere -
But, then a day you get a wonderful great idea you feel a great calm and
you are more healthier, than ever working and working and all you have
learned are now getting results – And, you are much stronger than before.
