My MLSP Presentation At “Live The Dream”: If You Missed It, Here’s The Scoop

Not only did I speak but I was also presented with a Leadership Award on stage. Man, this thing is heavy! :)

We just wrapped up our third MLSP “Live The Dream” event, this year held at the stylish Gaylord Texan in Dallas.

As usual we had an amazing lineup of speakers – Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson, Todd Falcone, Deagan Smith, to mention a few – and several of our leaders within the MLSP community also took the stage. Yours truly was one of them.

What I want to do in today’s post is share with you the main points from my MLSP presentation this weekend.

Although reading a blog post is obviously nothing like being there in person, I trust you still get some value from it that you can take action with and get results from.

And then I trust I’ll see you in person at next year’s MLSP “Live The Dream” event!

My MLSP Live The Dream Presentation Was Titled “What You Must Know…”

In my presentation I briefly shared my perspective on four different aspects of building a profitable home business online: Traffic, building your brand, personal development, and networking/relationship building.

As I said to the MLSP members in attendance, my goal was to give them a bit of a bigger perspective on what it takes to succeed – long term as well as short term.

#1: What You Must Know About Traffic

Firstly, I pointed out that when it comes to lead generation you need to think both long term and short term.

“You want to get to a place down the line where you’re producing 50-100 quality leads a day for free, and on autopilot”, I explained. “And that’s something you can really only do with SEO / content marketing. But consistent lead generation with content marketing doesn’t happen overnight, it’s something that builds over time.”

Jonathan Budd invited me to be his guest at his Empowered Entrepreneur event in San Diego next month. I think I just may have to check it out!

So in addition to a long term strategy you’ll want to choose a short term strategy. Because even though you’re building for longevity, you obviously don’t want to wait months to get results – neither in your MLSP business, nor in your MLM opportunity.

Of course you want to get results as quickly as possible that you can document and use in promotions because your prospects want “proof” that you’re a leader. Like it or not, results sell.

Solo ads, banners, PPV (pay per view) or Facebook ads are all methods that can give you quick lead flow.

But keep in mind that these strategies won’t generally give you the highest quality leads, and of course another big disadvantage is that any time you stop putting money into your campaigns, the traffic also stops completely.

For this reason, use short term strategies for the purpose of getting some kind of results as quickly as possible, which can help you attract more prospects (and, not to forget, give you some quick cash flow, too!), but at the same time learn an SEO strategy to build for longevity so you don’t have to be tied to your computer for years to come.

#2: What You Must Know About Building Your Brand

As I also explained to the MLSP members at “Live The Dream”, if you’re allowing yourself to get emotionally attached to your network marketing company (or even to MLSP for that matter), you’re making a big mistake.

Learn to look at your company as a vehicle. Think about it: What if your company’s compensation plan is dramatically altered or something else happens within the company that affects your business in a negative way – something that forces you to have to leave or causes your downline to suddenly jump ships?

You could say Todd Schlomer is the unsung hero of MLSP. He’s the system architect and a wizard with anything technical.

What if, heaven forbid, your MLM company goes out of business…? Will YOU still have a business?

You will if you’ve been building your brand, if you’ve got your own products and haven’t only been focusing on marketing your network marketing opportunity to biz pop seekers, but rather you’ve been working on getting your face and name out there to build your own identity as a marketer and leader.

Bottom line: don’t be married to your MLM; start building You Inc. from day one. It’s the only way to build for longevity.

#3: What You Must Know About Personal Growth

Third, in my MLSP presentation I discussed the fact that personal growth comes not from studying personal development books or any of the great mindset training you find in the MLSP members area for that matter, but from implementing what you learn.

Personal growth comes from training yourself to recognize opportunities when they show up, and then going after them like there was no tomorrow. The more you make those bold decisions, the easier it gets and the more you change on the inside. And, as we all know, you have to change for your circumstances to change.

But you must get out there, out of your comfort zone where the magic happens. Keeping your nose in a book and reciting Jim Rohn quotes in front of the mirror in the morning is NOT what’s gonna move your business forward.

#4: What You Must Know About Relationship Building

The final point I made in my MLSP presentation was that often you can speed up your results by making yourself useful to people who are in a position to help you.

As you can see I practice what I preach ;) Networking at the bar with MLSP co-founder Brian Fanale, Michelle Pescosolido and Jordan Schultz.

You want exposure? Then identify an exposure agent (i.e. an industry leader with a big following) and think of how you can make them money (rather than the other way around).

If for example you get great results with one of their products and provide them with a testimonial, they may feature your success story and you’ll get some recognition that can help get the ball rolling.

On the other hand, if you’re like 99% of new marketers out there, just trying to get a favor from the leader, you will be ignored.

Also – and with this I wrapped up my MLSP presentation – at any given stage in your business it’s critical to build and nourish relationships with others. You never know what connection may bear fruit at some point in the future. (It just may not be the way you expected it to.)

This, in a nutshell, was my MLSP “Live The Dream” presentation.

I’m always excited to be able to share some of my hard earned knowledge with the MLSP community, be it from stage or on MLSP webinars. I know that being a new person in this industry can be challenging, and having someone to follow, someone who’s “been there, done that”, can make all the difference.

I wish I’d known how to market strategically and build for longevity the day I started out. But I didn’t have a mentor or a community at the time, so the learning curve was steep.

You, however, can take some short cuts. You can learn directly from me and the rest of the MLSP leaders. If you’re not yet an MLSP member, you’ll want to take your risk free test drive of the MLSP system and marketing platform right now.

MLSP was designed to help you market your network marketing opportunity, and to do so so much more effectively. Our user testimonials speak for themselves. Watch the MLSP video testimonials and take your risk free test drive HERE.

Thank your Lena for sharing this wonderful post. I was delighted to see the event on live stream this year. MLSP leaders certainly did give allot of action steps that I will be starting this week. Your presentation was very insightful to the industries 4 pillars of success to running a profitable home business. One key idea I enjoyed in your presentation was that we must have been using long term and short-term strategies to get the results we need for our business. If you do not have leads, you do not have a business. I will have to get more serious about my branding this year as my business grows.
