I’ll be doing it again – this time it’s New York & Bermuda! ;-)

Last month – and you already know this if you have been following my posts and emails – I flew straight to Jamaica to unwind after the “No Excuses Summit” in Vegas.

At the Summit I had the opportunity to learn from some of the most successful MLM marketers in the world – guys like Jonathan Budd, Mike Dillard, Jim Yaghi, and Brian Fanale of MLM Lead System Pro.

Then, in Jamaica, during the hours spent by the pool or in my ocean front suite, working on my marketing funnel, I realized something important:

I discovered the power of attending an intensive marketing event followed by time spent actually absorbing what I had learned.

And interestingly enough, I discovered it purely by accident.

See, I’ve never done anything like that before. I’ve attended dozens of events over the course of my 3 1/2 years in this industry, but I always go straight home afterward – because I’m so inspired, so eager to take action with all the new tools.

See, I’m a big-time doer.

But, last month, it so happened that I had a vacation planned in Jamaica following the Vegas event.

Which meant that I now suddenly found myself in a completely different environ- ment: different sights, different sounds, different tastes and smells.

Just as importantly, I found peace and quiet. I found a place where I could actually process all these new ideas I picked up at the event while they were still fresh in my mind.

I had lots of light bulb moments as a result. I suddenly saw things with such clarity: where I want to take my business next and how to actually get it there. I saw the holes in my sales funnel – holes I didn’t even know existed before.

Fortunately, I also saw how they could be fixed, something which I started working on immediately.

And guess what…? This month, much as as a result of these new strategies I’ve implemented since returning back home, my profits are already twice of what they were the two previous months combined.

Do you think I’m glad I went to Jamaica..?! Ha-ha.

So… In about a week or so I will in fact be doing it again. I’ll be combining a mastermind session in New York City with some of my fellow top marketers and leaders in the online community that I belong to with a subsequent week-long cruise to the island of Bermuda together with my husband.

And this time it’s not by accident – it’s quite deliberate.

So, now…here’s my call to action to you: Next time you book a marketing event, try my strategy:

Make plans to get away somewhere right after the conference so as to process everything that you learned, while everything is still fresh.

It doesn’t have to be a luxury vacation – not at all. It could even be for just a day – maybe a day by yourself at the lake or the park.

And notice the phrase “by yourself”! Because it has to be without kids, family, friends or other potential interruptions – that’s the whole point!

The point is also the change of environment. Bring your notes from the conference, pen and paper, an open mind and an attitude of mediation. And see what happens.

See if you too won’t glean some amazing new insights. See if you, too, won’t work your business a lot more productively when you just take some time out from your busy every day routine to look at things with new eyes.

As for me, I’m now so in love with the idea that I suspect I will make a habit of it. ;-)
