“I feel like I’ve just put on a parachute and I’m about to make the jump but I have no way of knowing if the parachute is going to work. I’m nervous.”
One of my new consultants was about to make a significant financial investment in her business, and she was looking to me for assurance that she was doing the right thing.
“Well,” I replied, running with her analogy, “it’s not really a question of whether the parachute works. We know for a fact it does. The question is whether you wear it right…and whether you have faith that you can make the jump.”
True entrepreneurs have faith. Where others need to see proof first, true entrepreneurs believe first.
Do they still do their due diligence? Yes, of course.
But they also know that there are factors in life that they cannot control.
They know that even though they have examined the parachute from top to bottom, there could still be some defect that they failed to notice…some manufacturer’s error that they missed. Something that keeps the parachute from working as it should.
They know that life does not hold any guarantees. And that at some point you simply have to make a decision to believe. Believe, let go, and make the jump.
Trusting that the parachute will carry you.
True entrepreneurs know this.
They also know that if for some reason, unexpectedly, the parachute should fail them, they will still somehow, by some means, come out of it in one piece.
They don’t know exactly how or by what means. They just know.
Because they’re overcomers.
They know they’ll make it in the end.
So, my friend, if this describes you…if you’ve put the parachute on and you’ve followed the instructions…if you’ve studied how the parachute works, if you’ve listened to all the experts, if you’ve looked at the pros and the cons…
If you’ve done all of the above, you are ready to make the jump.
You may not feel like you are – but YES, you are ready.
There is nothing more you can do to prepare yourself for the leap.
Now it’s time to believe.
Believe, let go, and make the jump…
