How To Sponsor People Into Your MLM Opportunity (Even If You’re Brand New)

In this video I shed some light on why having your own, unique product, such as a free report, eBook or video series, will help you look a lot more “leader like” in the eyes of your prospects.

How do you attract people into your MLM opportunity when you aren’t yet “successful”?

If it’s true – and it is – that success in this industry is all about being the leader that your prospects are looking for, how do you get them to see you as that leader while you’re still brand new?

How To Recruit People Into Your MLM Opportunity Before You’ve Got Results

This is often the big “catch-22″ for new distributors: They’ve got to have results in order to be able to sponsor people into their MLM opportunity, but at the same time they need to sponsor people to get results in the first place! Heeeelp, what’s a poor newbie to do?

Okay, first of all, stop calling yourself a “newbie”. Remove it, kill it…abolish it from your vocabulary forever.

Put a rubber band around your wrist and snap yourself (hard) if you ever use that word about yourself again (or phrases like “IF I make money”, “I can’t afford it”, and the likes).

This will remind you to stop demoting yourself and subconsciously programming yourself to believe you aren’t good enough to be a leader.

Putting those types of thoughts into your head will sabotage ANY chances of you having success in your MLM opportunity.

Focus on these 3 things and you will succeed…

Okay, now that we’re past that hurdle, here’s what you do…three things:

1.) Start building your own brand from day one. Your internet presence (your blog, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook etc.) should be promoting You the Leader, NOT your MLM opportunity.

Using your company logo as Facebook avatar, making your Facebook fan page about your company or your products, using the name of your MLM opportunity in your email address (i.e. XYZcompanyrocks@gmail.com) – all of that, it’s like carrying a billboard around that reads, “Amateur”.

No, you should be building ‘You Inc.’ You are your business. You are the leader your prospects are looking for. You may not be a top earner yet, but ALWAYS present yourself as a leader and trainer.

Remember, others see you as you see yourself!

2.) Commit to excellence. Study your craft. Become insanely good at marketing. Not pitching – marketing. This is a life long pursuit, and if you truly want to master it, you’ve got to live it, eat it and breathe it.

By increasing your skill sets you increase your value in the market place, and you gain respect in the eyes of others.

3.) Take on a role of leadership whenever you interact with your prospects – be it on the phone, in an email, on Facebook or wherever.

This means you have posture, and it’s something you need to practice religiously until it becomes second nature.

Bear in mind that you’ll only be able to do #3 effectively if you’ve got 1 and 2 down: your internet presence must be personal, not replicated, and you must have something of value to offer your prospect…something other than your MLM opportunity.

You don’t need to know a LOT (yet) but you’ve got to know more than your prospect! You need to have some solution that they have yet to discover. This automatically puts you in a position of authority – you become the adviser, the go-to person.

This outlines in very simple terms how you can look “successful” before you have achieved real results. This is exactly what I did when I was brand new and had yet to sponsor someone into my MLM opportunity. And over time, it produced real, tangible results – as in several hundred personally sponsored reps in my downline.

The real reason people join you in your MLM opportunity…

What happens over time as you repeatedly carry out 1,2, and 3, and as you become increasingly more proficient in each area, is that your prospects start paying attention when you give them “recommendations”…

When you give them direction on what to do and what action steps to take, they listen. Because they’ve come to trust you, like you, and respect you.

This is how you start getting leads and reps for your MLM opportunity…

Not because you’ve been able to convince your prospects of how fabulous your MLM opportunity is and how much they need your products, but because they want to join YOU.

And before long, you also start getting tangible results.

Before you know it, you have pictures of yourself with awards and screenshots of your name on your company leader boards, and that, my friend, can be a real turning point in your business.

Because now you finally have PROOF that you’re “successful” and that you are a leader, and – like it or not – it does make recruiting new reps a great deal easier.

This is really all there is to sponsoring people into your MLM opportunity. In an industry where people are starved for leadership, offer value and solutions and to step up to the plate and be a person of authority and integrity.

“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want”.

This famous Zig Ziglar quote, in the context of what I shared in this post, becomes not only a possibility but a certainty.

You just gotta learn to be a little bit patient… ;)

Great post as always Lena. I totally agree with you!

As you said – it is all about presentation when you are starting out, meaning how you present yourself, as well as the posture. Oh – and the rubber and trick works!!! :-)

    Lena,

such a wonderful and creative way to present yourself as a leader instead of a newbie. I really did not have a clear direction about what to do. Now I have a plan of writing my ebook. Thank you!
