How To Attract Qualified Prospects For Your MLM Online

When it comes to recruiting for your MLM online, just like offline recruiting, you need to understand the concept of having posture with prospects.

I don’t care how fabulous your products or comp plan are, or if you have the most amazing marketing system known to man, if you don’t come across as that leader your prospects are looking for, you will have a very, very hard time sponsoring anyone into your opportunity.

The Role Of Posture In MLM Online Recruiting

First of all, and I’ve talked about this in other posts, I’m not saying that you as a new (or even relatively new) marketer will be able to sponsor people into your MLM online exclusively without ever picking up the phone.

There’s a point in everyone’s home business, before your sales funnel is personalized and value driven enough and your Internet presence strong enough, that working the phones has its place.

But, here’s the thing…if you do a lot of the leg work beforehand, online – if you qualify your prospects online before they get to talk to you – those phone conversations won’t be a drag; they’ll be a walk in the park.

So what do I mean when I say to “qualify” your prospects? And what’s posture got to do with it?

Qualifying prospects simply means that you convey a clear message of who you want to work with…and also who you’re not interested in working with.

This can be difficult for new network marketers. At a point where you’d be happy to sponsor just about anyone you’re supposed to raise the bar on people??!

Yes, that’s exactly right! Now, the neat thing is that the more your prospects see that you’re not willing to just take anyone on board, the more successful you’ll look in their eyes.

And the more you are able to convey a mindset of abundance this way, the more people you’ll also sponsor as a result. The less you care, the better you’ll do – that’s the big irony.

Tips for how to have posture when prospecting for your MLM online

So let me give you some specific ideas for how to better prospect for your MLM online in a way that makes you look like a leader. This can help you sponsor more of the sharp, driven, motivated kind of people into your business and less of the tire kickers.

1.) When shooting videos, practice looking straight into the camera for the duration of your video. No shifty eyes, no looking down, none of that. If you want to attract confident people, you need to convey confidence. Watch my video above to better see what I mean.

2.) Don’t be too quick or overly eager to reply to prospects’s emails, Facebook messages, and the like.

As an in-demand leader, for you to have prospects contact you is just “business as usual”. You have so many interested people contacting you that one more or one less makes no difference. Besides leaders are busy and productive…they don’t keep checking their emails repeatedly throughout the day. ;)

Remember, you have to convey a mindset of abundance before abundance will enter your life in the form of money.

3.) Always be looking for opportunities to pass on tips and training. You may not be a top earner yet, but you can still come across as “leader like” by taking on the role of a trainer and teacher.

4.) Learn to give strong and concise calls to action. Just like you would on the phone, when prospecting for your MLM online you need to tell the person you’re communicating with where to go and what to do next – be it on a sales page, in an auto responder message, a video, or wherever.

Leaders know how to give directions: “Click here.” “Buy now.” “Opt in below.” “Click the like button and share with your friends.”

There’s obviously a lot more to conveying a leader like personality than this, but here’s the bottom line:

As you become a better leader and marketer, the more effortlessly you’ll be able to have posture with prospects. And the more qualified prospects you’ll also be able to attract into your MLM online by means of your Internet presence and sales funnel alone, leaving the recruiting process to happen more and more on autopilot.

Just be patient with yourself! :)

Excellent advise on how to be a leader as people are drawn to those they feel will inspire them.

I have to wonder Lena. Was this post inspired by my comment yesterday? I love your example of what is and isn’t posture in video. Many people talk about posture, but I like how you make it more understandable by identifying posture as a showing of confidence along with having an abundance mindset. I’ve noticed some online network marketers putting qualifiers in their marketing, but didn’t understand the importance of it until this post. Quote from Lena: “Qualifying prospects simply means that you convey a clear message of who you want to work with…and also who you’re not interested in working with.” Really simple concept, but very important. It’s amazing to learn tire kickers will self police themselves if you give the instruction they are NOT desired. Thanks Lena.

Excellent feedback, Eric – thanks! But no, it wasn’t actually inspired by your comment…although your comment was great! =)

  5. Hi Lena. Thanks so much for this video. Can’t wait for your webinar tonight. This is very timely for me, as I am focusing on video in November. I’m in a 30-day video challenge, and I’ll share this post with the group. I see you’re coming to a city near me – St. Louis. I’m very excited for you.

    All the best,
    Leslie
