How to escape “overwhelmed”…

A lot of new marketers feel overwhelmed. Heck, a lot of seasoned marketers feel overwhelmed!

There’s just so much training, so much information, so many courses and systems and programs and ebooks…and it seems that every day there’s something “new and better” being launched.

So many “gurus” claim they’ve got the solution… What is a poor newbie to do? Who is a poor newbie to follow?

What I recommend you do, is opt in to a few different lists…not too many, but a few:

Because no one can be an expert on everything, even if a “guru”.

If you’re looking for training on say, prospecting, then opt in to the list of the guy or gal who’s considered the master in that particular area.

If you want to learn about email marketing, then find out who’s considered the expert on that subject, and start following them.

Don’t allow yourself to be confused by every person out there who claims they’ve come up with the best thing since sliced bread.

You listen to the people who know what they’re talking about and who have the track records to prove it: many years of success in the industry, big downlines, etc.

By the way, all the gurus have free stuff they give away (the gurus call them bribes…but don’t tell them I shared that with you, okay?!), so you can get more than enough of valuable, practical training even without having to spend a penny.

Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy courses – of course you should – but if you’re on a shoe string budget, it’s good to know that that doesn’t need to stop you.

Here’s another tip for you if you feel overwhelmed — this is something I always tell my new consultants who are just starting out: Look at your training like you do your local library.

You go to your local library looking for a specific book, right? At the very least you have an idea of what you want…you know the subject matter, or the author.

Approach your marketing training the same way. Go to your training looking for something specific.

Never get so bogged down by studying and reading and listening to conference calls that you fail to take action.

There are thousands of books in the library, but you wouldn’t stick around and try to read them all right away…right? Then, you’d never leave!

The books are just there for you for whenever you need them. They’re resources. We all get that.

Well, that’s how you’ve got to look at your marketing training, too. It’s your library of resources that you can go back to whenever you find – as you go about your marketing – that there’s something you need to study up on a bit before you can proceed.

Notice I said, “as you go about your marketing”.

That’s the whole key here: You are taking action. You are placing ads and talking to interested prospects – the only two profit producing activities in any home business.

And then you simply return to your “library” whenever you find that you need a particular resource for what you are working on at this point in time in your business.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you need to “know it all” before you can get results. You don’t.

What you need, is to be consistent and persistent, and to keep implementing what you learn as you go.

Do this, and I think you will find that the feeling over “overwhelmed” will go away.

Best of luck!
