Have you met…the angels in my downline?

The money is great. So is the recognition. And the lifestyle is second to none.

But that’s not what gets me out of bed and into action each and every day.

When I turned on my computer this morning, there was a message from one of my downline members in Norway.

She wrote, “it’s amazing how the pieces of the puzzle are coming together now for me. I feel like I am surrounded by angels. You have lots of angels in your downline…did you know that, Lena?”

Those were her exact words. Followed by a “smiley face”. :)

Well, she put a smile on my face, too.

And inspired me to write this post.

It’s true – I do have a lot of angels on my team. And it makes me proud and happy to see how my members are all supporting one another and working together so that everyone can get quicker results.

First, there is Thomas…

Thomas who is the contact person for my team in Scandinavia, who does team trainings online in Norwegian every week and even conducts monthly workshops at his home.

Here, the members get together in person to learn from Thomas and from one another.

I didn’t ask Thomas to do all this for my team. He offered.

Now, that’s a real angel!

And he isn’t the only one.

There’s also Helene. Helene is a real “techie”, and when my members needed to know how to use a particular software to create website templates, she – on her own initiative – created a video tutorial for everyone, which showed them the exact steps.

This was not just for Helene’s own downline but for my downline, too. And there is of course no financial reward for her in assisting my members.

Yet she didn’t let that stop her from helping.

And then there is Sandy. Sandy took it upon herself to create a Skype support group for my team where anyone who has questions can go to connect with other members.

A great idea – a small thing that’s made a huge difference for everyone.

And let’s not forget Neil. Just last week he was named “Member of the Month” by our company, Carbon Copy Pro, because of his phenomenal results in his business lately.

Results he has achieved by building his business with completely free marketing strategies.

And – this is the best part – Neil is now in the process of planning an article marketing course that he will start teaching to both his own and my downline in about a week or so.

Without charging a dime for it, and all on his own initiative…

There are many more names I could mention. Like my personal assistant Mel who is also a consultant on my team and who always goes way beyond her call of duty.

And she always treats everyone, applicants and members alike, with love and respect.

Or I could mention 25 year old Rebekka who promptly put together some slides to supplement for some information that was missing in a video tutorial the members had been given access to – and then gave my whole team access to the slides.

Yet another angel…

What I’ve always aimed to do as a leader, is to create a kind of environment among my members that fosters support…a “team spirit”, if you like. Camaraderie.

I’d like to think that my members’ efforts are a reflection of the values that I myself adhere to. I do believe that a leader is known by the actions of their followers – both for good and for bad.

Which is why, when I see my members contributing and going the extra mile for one another, I feel that I have, in fact, accomplished something worthwhile.

If you want to know what it is that gets my juices flowing, well, there you have it…what has me jumping out of bed in the morning…every morning, still, after over four years in the direct sales industry.

It’s not the money. It’s not the recognition. It’s not the lifestyle.

Even though all of that of course is fabulous, what it is really about is the people. The relationships. The changed lives.

Seeing the angels emerge in your downline, knowing that you had at least some small part in their formation.

That, I am convinced, has got to be the most gratifying feeling for any person in network marketing.

Successfully,
