The question was raised by one of my subscribers the other day.
 
Actually, it wasn’t as much of a question as it was a statment. My subscriber claimed that the only people who succeed in building online businesses are very computer literate individuals and/or those that carry degrees.
 
And she used this as the reason why she didn’t believe Internet Marketing was for her: she wasn’t computer savvy, and she certainly didn’t hold any degrees.
 
My response is two-fold:
 
First of all, her claim is false. There are numerous examples of people who started home based businesses with little to no computer skills but who still managed to build hugely successful businesses on the Internet.
 
Yours truly happens to be one of them. I had zero knowledge of Internet marketing when I got started and only knew how to do a few simple things on the computer.
 
Second, I have this to say: if you think you can do something, you’re right. If you think you CAN’T do it, you’re right too.
 
If you’ve already decided in your own mind that it’s too difficult, then you’re programming your brain for failure.
 
On the other hand, if you make up your mind that you are going to make it no matter what, and you don’t even allow yourself to think about quitting because failure simply isn’t an option…then you’re setting yourself up for SUCCESS.
 
Internet marketing is simply a craft that has to be learned like anything else in life.
 
What I lacked in computer literacy, I made up for in drive, desire and will. That’s how I succeeded.
 
I set my mind to it, and I learned it… I learned to market online.
 
In the same way, if YOU can’t learn it, it’s only because YOU say so…
 
That’s how I see it anyway…
